The class material is designed for the novice to understand and the advanced to use. You will leave this course with a much deeper understanding of activated carbon and how it is used in all industries, from Food and beverage to Municipal water to Virus Production and all areas in between.

Outline:

  1. What is activated carbon & how it works
  2. Adsorption equilibrium and kinetics
  3. Applications (liquid and vapor, typical EBCT, SVs, etc...)
  4. Manufacturing Techniques
  5. Reactivation – Benefits, Appropriate forms, and materials
  6. Special Update on PFAS React Study
  7. Carbon Properties - Iodine / CTC; Mesh Size (screens); Density; Hardness
  8. Carbon Application Testing – including Isotherm and other testing
  9. Modeling capabilities
  10. Liquid Equipment - Start-up, Wetting, Backwash
  11. Vapor Equipment – Selection and Guidelines

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for people new to the filtration industry, either in technical, sales, or business functions.  It is also very good for those in this industry for a while to better understand how fundamentals can be used for practical applications.
